The Hebrew alphabet is called the aleph-bet because it starts with א aleph and ב bet. Learn the order as a map, not as a race. The shapes still need to be practised separately.

For a printable overview, use the Hebrew alphabet chart. For a learning sequence that does not overload a beginner, start with the first Hebrew letters.

The five final shapes

At the end of a word, kaf, mem, nun, pe, and tsadi become ך ם ן ף ץ. These are not extra sounds or new alphabet positions. They are positional shapes. Read the final-letter guide before copying words.

Memorise it in groups

Say the list in groups of five or six, then write one group from memory. Do not confuse knowing that resh is number 20 with recognising ר in a sentence. Alphabet order is a useful scaffold; reading and writing need their own practice.
